Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer that is well known by her outstanding performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes, like an Oscar for the movie Piano. The actress began her career acting as a performer on Broadway and Off Broadway. From the time she was a child she's been enthusiastic about acting. She was Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in the school's play. The mumps that she contracted left her blind and deaf in the one ear. However, she refused to let that to hinder her ambitions of becoming an actor. She studied drama at college in Pittsburgh, then relocated from Pittsburgh to New York City to follow her dreams. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and they collaborated for Broadway Crimes of the Heart her first feature film. When she moved in Los Angeles she tried to be a film actor and eventually landed a supporting role on Swing Shift. Over the past three decades Holly Hunter has been on several TV shows and movies. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
